What is recorded here
Knockaunakilleen was a children's burial ground hidden inside an older church enclosure in County Galway. The name still appears on survey maps, yet no stones or marks remained when men walked the grass in 1983. Those small graves disappeared beneath time and turf, leaving only the chance that innocent bodies once lay beneath the soil.
Within the SE quadrant of an associated ecclesiastical enclosure (GA103-137001-); indicated in name only on the OS 6-inch mapping. On inspection in March 1983 no visible surface trace survived.
