What is recorded here

Kilnamorawaun marks the lost site of an ancient church on a west-northwest-facing slope in County Cork. No wall, foundation or stone still breaks the grass, yet the name preserves the shape of a place where people gathered to pray. The land may have swallowed the building while memory kept its address alive.
In pasture on WNW-facing slope. According to O'Donoghue (1986, 19) site of ancient church. No visible surface trace. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork. Volume 1: West Cork' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1992). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research. Date of upload/revision: 14 January 2009

The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.
