What is recorded here

This site was excavated as part of topsoil-stripping associated with the East-West interconnector project (HVC E-WIP) (Licence no. 10E0154). The kiln (3.2m long) was aligned SW-NE and was irregular in plan. Two pits were lined by a linear trench, the basal fill of the SW comprised a 50mm deep layer of charred wood/charcoal (Byrne 2010).
