What is recorded here
Killoveenege Burial Gd is a subcircular burial ground in County Cork, measuring 16 metres east-west and 12 metres north-south, with many grave markers still visible in reclaimed land. Field fences mark its western and northern edges, while children’s names suggest generations laid to rest beside one another. The place holds quiet company, where the dead remain close enough to touch in memory and soil.
In reclaimed land. Subcircular area (16m E-W; 12m N-S) bounded to W and N by field fences. Many grave markers noted.
The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork. Volume 1: West Cork' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1992). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
