Situated on top of a drumlin known as Cush Hill. This is a circular grass-covered area (diam. 41.3m N-S; 37.3m E-W) defined by a slight earthen bank (at N: Wth of base 4.7m; int. H 0.1m; ext. H 1.8m) and hedge, with a slight outer fosse that has probably been re-cut (at N: Wth of base 2m; D 0.65m) N-E. The original entrance is not identified, although there are gaps at SW (Wth of base 1.7m) and WNW (Wth of base 1.9m). It was adapted as a tree-ring and there are deciduous and coniferous trees on the bank. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Monaghan' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1986).
