Kiel (Disused) — Report the wrong picture

Kiel is a disused burial ground in County Cork, marked on the 1842 OS map and preserved as a rectangular cut in a north-facing pasture slope. Its small dimensions, shallow scarp and single surviving marker suggest a quiet local use rather than a grand public monument. The place still holds the shape of care: a limited area set apart for the dead, now half-hidden by grass and overgrowth.

In pasture on N-facing slope. Marked 'Kiel' on OS 6-inch map (1842). Rectangular area (6.6m NE-SW; 3.1m SE-NW) cut into hillside on SE side; defined by scarp (H 0.75m) on NW side; other 2 sides defined by overgrowth. One burial marker noted.
