Kenmare House

In the S outskirts of Killarney. Two-storey former stable ranges built around an open courtyard. The present structure was originally the stableyard of an early 18th-century house, associated with the Earls of Kenmare, which stood immediately to the S. This house was demolished in the 1870s when another house, Killarney House, was built c. 1.1km to the WNW. This house was burnt in 1913 and the stableyard was consequently renovated as a dwelling (Bence-Jones 1990, 162-3). A further enclosed yard with a two-storey dovecote stands to the S.
