Kealkill Stone Circle

Kealkill is a five-stone Bronze Age circle on Maughanclea Hill, built around 1500 BC to mark a southwest axis across the valley. People may have stood inside its shallow ellipse, watched the bay light change, or placed stones there after death. The small southwest slab, not the larger northern stone, may be the true axial marker, which suggests the circle pointed away from obvious size toward a thinner line of sight.
