What is recorded here
Indictated holds three quarters of a large oval church enclosure in level Cork pasture, preserving Cuan's Church and a graveyard beside a holy well. The missing western section suggests pasture, ploughs or forgetting claimed what ceremony once kept whole. A person may have walked that lost curve at dusk, carrying butter, bread or a dead child, believing Cuan still listened beneath the grass.
In level pasture. Three quarters of large oval enclosure (c. 100m SW-NE; c. 80m SE-NW) shown on 1842 OS 6-inch map, missing W section by 1935 OS 6-inch map. Now enclosed NW->NE by earthen bank (H c. 1m); levelled bank visible NE-NW as slight undulation. Graveyard (CO064-02602-) in NE quadrant. According to Power (1923, 178) site of 'Cill Chuain - Cuan's Church'. Holy well (CO064-025---) c. 150m to SSW.
