Kilquane is a vanished church in County Cork, destroyed before the seventeenth century and now hidden beneath a graveyard. Power described a complete ruin with a nave and chancel, yet even that memory has surrendered to soil and silence. The buried walls may still hold the shape of prayers spoken there, waiting beneath feet that no longer know they walk across a chapel.

In graveyard (CO064-026002-). On 1842 OS 6-inch map 'site of church' marked to N of centre; no visible surface trace. Site of ancient parish church of Kilquane; according to Power (1923,178), 'a complete ruin at beginning of seventeenth century....it consisted of nave and chancel'. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork. Volume 2: East and South Cork' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1994).
