What is recorded here

On flat grassland with good views in all directions, Woodford House in adjoining field to S. Slightly raised circular area (int. diam. 36m N-S; 35m E-W) enclosed by an earth and stone bank (top Wth 2m; base Wth 1m; ext. H 1m; int. H 0.2m) best preserved from W to N elsewhere it has been reduced to a scarp and outer foose (top Wth 4m; base Wth 2m; ext. D 0.1m) visible at S only with possible entrance gap (Wth 5m) at N. Wall footings of a rectangular building (int. Dims. 10.7m N-S x 5.8m E-W; wall T 0.8m) built up against inner face of bank in W quadrant of ringfort. Remains of stone rubble of a building also visible in the centre of the ringfort. These buildings may be 19th century structures, such as a summer house associated with Woodford House.
