What is recorded here

Marked faintly as a circular enclosure (diam. c. 35m) on the 1839 ed. of the OS 6-inch map. It is situated on a SW-facing slope with a S-N stream c. 150m to the W. No feature is visible at ground level in pasture. A cropmark enclosure defined by a single fosse is visible on aerial photograph (CUCAP: BDJ 46) from 1970 before the location was developed as a farmyard. Archaeological testing (11E0251) just to the S produced no related archaeological material (Whitty 2011; excavations.ie 2011:633).
