What is recorded here

Indicated is a ruined ringfort on a Monaghan drumlin, its earth bank still standing one metre high after centuries of rain and plough. The haggard edge marks where a human hand stopped a boundary, perhaps around a fire, a loom or a child learning the shape of home. What is missing has not stopped the place existing; the summit still holds the memory of being shaped.
Situated on a summit of a NE-SW drumlin ridge. A semi-circular field bank (Wth 0.75m; H 1m) which forms part of the perimeter a haggard SW-W-NE may represent the remains of a rath (estimated diam. c. 35m NE-SW). Revised by: Michael Moore Date of revised upload: 20 June 2018
