Beside abandoned laneway which formerly led to Rathduff railway station c. 100m to E; kiln not shown on 1842 OS 6-inch map and may have been built in conjunction with station. Large overgrown double kiln; ivy-clad front (H c. 6m; Wth c. 12m) facing W with two similar arched recesses (H 1.5m; Wth 2.4m) set 3.2m apart. Recess to N blocked by iron gate. Top heavily overgrown, both funnels circular (diam. 2.75m). Sloping ramp to rear. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork.
