What is recorded here
Indicated as a curving field bank SE-NW on the 1839 ed. of the OS 6-inch map and located in a low-lying area. It was described in the 1940s as a circular area (diam. c. 25m) defined by a low bank (H 0.4m) that was incorporated into a field bank at S, with traces of external fosse (SMR file). It is not visible in 1987 in a cereal crop. Moated site (WX020-017----) is immediately to the N.
The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Wexford' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1996). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
