What is recorded here

On top of a ridge running NNW-SSE with good views in all directions. Depicted on the 1837 ed. of the OS 6-inch map as a rectangular farmstead associated with a possible house and outbuilding. The buildings and the enclosing element of the farmstead have been levelled but the outline of the latter is visible in places as a low poorly preserved earthen bank (H c. 0.1m). A mature tree is growing at the S corner. The buildings and farmstead were probably of 18th century date. A haggard to the NE was associated (pers. comm. local landowner). A motte and bailey (LF020-009001-) lie c. 60m to the NNW. Compiled by: Caimin O'Brien Date of upload: 11 October 2013
A local fairy fort (ringfort/rath); wider significance not recorded.

The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.
