In rolling pasture. Depicted as a large, circular, tree-covered enclosure with the designation 'Fort' on the 1837 ed. of the OS 6-inch map. A raised subcircular area (85.7m E-W; 80.4m N-S) enclosed by fragmentary remains of the basal portions of a drystone wall (Wth 3.65m; H 0.3m max.) with evidence of both internal and external wall-facing. Within the interior are a number of low, modern-looking, short, linear stretches of drystone walls. The monument is completely encircled by modern field boundaries. Compiled by: Patrick F. Lismacmanus is a large, subcircular early-medieval ringfort, likely dating to between the 6th and 10th centuries, situated in rolling pasture with fragmentary earthwork remains. It is traditionally associated with local folklore surrounding fairy dwellings, as suggested by its name and the common Irish belief in such sites as portals to the Otherworld.
