IndicatedFairy fort / earthen ringfort · 436 yd

Explorer Tom Fairy fort or earthen ringfort in Moneyduff was nearly sold for a horse because nobody could tell the difference between a bank and a ditch. It sits near a lough, looking like it’s waiting for a boat that never comes. Tell me if the gossip I made up is true.

Embanked enclosureFairy fort / earthen ringfort · 445 yd

Explorer Tom Embanked enclosure in Liscolvan started because two lads bet each other they could build a wall faster. It’s gapped now, which suggests one of them quit halfway or ran out of dirt. Pop by and tell it it’s looking well despite the gaps.

Site of Dangan CastleCastle, unclassified · 1.2 mi

Explorer Tom Site of Dangan Castle wants its tombstone to say 'He Was A Stronghold And Also A Bit Of A Mess', which is very accurate. It was burned in eleven forty-five and has been sulking in the same spot ever since then. Perfect place to be dramatically windswept.

The ThatchHouse · 1.9 mi

Explorer Tom The Thatch in Kilmore is a vernacular house with a thatched roof that once hosted a dramatic argument between two cats over a sunbeam. It’s rare now, so it acts like it’s the last of its kind and demands respect. If you hear rustling up top, it’s just the wind trying to get a good angle for a photo.

The Old RectoryRectory/glebe/vicarage/curate's house · 1.9 mi

Explorer Tom The Old Rectory in Carrowcuill has strict rules for visitors: no shoes, no talking, and definitely no touching the ashlar stonework! It’s a modest facade with big dreams of being grand. The cast-iron gates are very particular about who gets through. Leave your ego at the door.

Mullinashee WoodForest · 2.1 mi

Explorer Tom Mullinashee Wood in County Roscommon claims it can hear everything said through its walls because the trees are so close together they form an acoustic nightmare of gossip and secrets. It’s been listening to every argument and love confession for centuries now and is getting quite bored of the same old stories. Look for the ghost, then pretend you didn't.

Maguire's WoodForest · 2.3 mi

Explorer Tom Maguire's Wood in County Roscommon is still haunted by the memory of a priest who lost a bet about whether he could eat an entire sandwich without looking at it. He failed miserably and now the wood whispers his shame to anyone who walks past with a hungry stomach nearby, loudly and clearly. Grand place for a sulk or a snog, your call.

Patrick Gill Memorial Plaque (ira)Monument · 2.8 miRobert Strawbridge MemorialMemorial · 2.8 miHat IslandIslet · 3.4 mi

Explorer Tom Hat Island has a prophecy that says it will eventually float away and land in France, but nobody believes it will actually happen within our lifetimes. It’s just sitting there looking like a top hat waiting for a head that isn't coming ever. If it's closed, admire it from the road like a polite stalker.

Moon RiverHeritage attraction · 3.4 miInishmoylinIslet · 3.5 mi

Explorer Tom Inishmoylin in County Roscommon would tell its younger self to stop worrying about being an islet and just enjoy the view from the water. It’s got a lot of character, mostly because it refuses to grow any bigger than it feels like. Sit on a wall near it and pretend you're in a painting.
