What is recorded here
In rolling pasture overlooking an extensive area of marshland to the NE. Depicted as a circular enclosure with the designation 'Fort' on the 1837 ed. of the OS 6-inch map. A raised circular area (diam. 40.9m) enclosed by a much-denuded low bank of earth and stone (Wth 3.1m; H 0.4m max.) with a shallow external fosse (Wth 2.6m; D 0.2m). A wide break (Wth 3.8m) in the bank at SE may mark the original entrance. The interior slopes appreciably from SW-NE.
