What is recorded here

Indicated is a fairy fort or earthen ringfort in Lackan (roscommon By., Aughrim East Ed), County Roscommon, Ireland. It occupies the eastern summit of a drumlin ridge as a circular grass-covered area nearly forty-four metres wide. A low scarp defines the boundary while a road circumscribes the site from the northeast to the southwest. Another rath lies one hundred and sixty metres to the south-southeast.

At the summit at the E end of an ENE-WSW drumlin ridge. Described as a circular area (diam. c. 40m E-W) defined by an eroded earthen bank and a slight outer fosse circumscribed by a road NE-S-SW (Gannon 1972). It is now visible as a circular grass-covered area (diam. c. 44m) which is defined by a scarp (H 0.4-1m), and circumscribed by a road NE-S-SW. Rath (RO017-027----) is c. 160m to the SSE.
