What is recorded here

Indicated is a lost Cork ringfort where a stone arc still braces a field fence though the rest has vanished. It enclosed one eighth of an acre, large enough for a household but small enough to disappear when farms changed shape. The surviving bank turns ordinary cattle country into a place where human hands still draw a circle.

Shown on 1842 OS 6-inch map as hachured circular enclosure; on 1904 and 1938 maps as circular field (diam. c. 22m). Probably ringfort referred to by Broker (1937, 44) as enclosing 'one eight of an acre'. Arc of stone-faced bank (H 1m) survives N->SE as part of field fence system. Remainder levelled.
