What is recorded here

In pasture, on level ground with a rising slope to S, in an area of gently undulating terrain. This enclosure is indicated on the 1837 and 1913 OS 6-inch maps as a broadly oval enclosure, incorporated into a system of field boundaries which extend beyond the enclosure to NNE, S and SW. The enclosure (28m NE–SW; c. 23m NW–SE) has been partly levelled. The outline of the E half is preserved in a field wall/property boundary, which curves NNE–S in a shallow arc. The enclosing element on the W half was removed during land reclamation but a slight surface undulation curving SSW–N is still discernible. The interior of the enclosure is not noticeably raised above exterior ground level. Compiled by: Jane O'Shaughnessy Date of upload: 25 July 2014
