What is recorded here

Indicated is a small circular island in Killybandrick Lough, County Cavan, sitting eighty-five metres from the shore. Davies walked the beach in 1941 and found a broken pile, horizontal logs, pottery, burnt bones and teeth beside a rough kerb of stones. The water may have hidden a doorway, a roof or a whole room, but the lough kept the unusual parts and gave back only fragments.

Marked on all OS eds. Small circular island (diam. c. 15m) in Killybandrick Lough, c. 85m from the shoreline. Davies (NMI Survey 1941) recorded that the island was surrounded by a rough kerb of stones. He found a pile on the beach, a few horizontal logs, pottery, burnt bones and teeth.
