In a low-lying marshy area. A rectangular enclosure (dims. c. 32m E-W, 21.5m N-S) defined by an earthen bank (Wth c. 2.8m, int. H c. 0.7m, ext H c. 1.5m) and a wide shallow external fosse (Wth c. 3.7m). The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Laois' (Dublin Stationery Office, 1995) compiled by P. David Sweetman, Olive Alcock and Bernie Moran.
