What is recorded here
On the crown of a hillock, in improved pasture with good views across a gently undulating landscape. A circular area (19m NW-SE; 19m NE-SW) defined by the remains of an earthen bank (int. H 0.55m; ext. H 1.3m; Wth at top 2.8m; overall Wth 7.8m) NW-SE which is best preserved (ext. H 1.6m) NE-SE. Thorn and ash trees grow on top of the bank. The bank is reduced to a short, sharp scarp (Wth 2m; H 1.05m) SE-NW. A wide area (L 8m) has been lowered (c. 0.2m) below scarp level at SSE, in relatively modern times. There is no obvious trace of an outer fosse. The interior is raised (H 0.75m) above external ground level and is grass-covered with some trees growing in the NW-sector. The monument is located in the W corner of the field and a trackway (long-axis NE-SW) abuts to NW.
