What is recorded here

On top of a low ridge (long-axis NE-SW), in improved pasture, with good views of gently undulating countryside with hills in the near distance to N and E. An oval area (32m NE-SW; 22m NW-SE) defined by the remains of a levelled bank (int. H 0.2m; ext. H 0.1m; Wth at top 2.5m; overall Wth 8.25m) which is best preserved SW-NE. The scarp is almost levelled NE-SSE and is very low SSE-SW. The entrance (Wth c. 7m) may have been located E-SE where the bank is virtually non-existent. Traces of an outer fosse (Wth 4m; D 0.1m) are evident SSW-NW and NNE-E. The interior is generally level and a rectangular enclosure (CL035-NEW18) is situated within the NE-sector. The following image has been uploaded: CL035-029----_01 From NE. General view of monument. Compiled by: Mary Tunney, Alison McQueen and Vera Rahilly Date of upload: 20 June 2018
