What is recorded here

Indicated is a fairy fort or earthen ringfort in Falsk, County Roscommon, Ireland. It occupies the crest of a low ridge and consists of a subcircular grass-covered area bounded by a slight earthen bank and shallow fosse. A field bank now overlays part of its eastern perimeter, while two other raths stand within a short distance to the west and east.
On the crest of a low NW-SE ridge. Subcircular grass-covered area (dims 37.3m N-S; 33.6m E-W) defined by a slight gass-covered earthen bank (Wth 3.9-4.6m; int. H 0.1-0.4m; ext. H 0.3-0.8m) and a shallow fosse (Wth of top 4.7-5.9m; Wth of base 2-3m; D 0.2-0.6m). The original entrance is not identifiable and the perimeter at E is overlain by a NE-SW field bank. Rath (RO023-149----) is c. 200m to the WNW, and rath (RO023-003----) is c. 65m to the E. Compiled by: Michael Moore Date of upload: 24 August 2010
