What is recorded here

Indicated is a subrectangular crannog in Lough Sheelin, County Cavan, measuring roughly 26 by 12 metres and floating 50 metres from the shore. It resisted surveyors for decades, absent from the 1836 and 1876 maps but emerging on the 1913 edition as if the water had finally decided to show its hand. The lake keeps its own calendar, revealing what it wants when it wants, leaving humans to chase shadows across the surface.
