In gently undulating farmland to E of the Clare River, it overlooks an area to S which is prone to seasonal flooding. Poorly preserved subcircular enclosure (E-W 100m, N-S 98m) skirted from SE to SW by the td. boundary. It is defined by two banks of earth and stone and an intervening fosse. The inner bank is visible from N through E to SW; no trace survives elsewhere. The fosse and outer bank are best preserved at S, and faint traces of the fosse are present from S through W to N. Within the interior is a slight earthen mound (12.5m by 12m, H 0.3m) just N of centre, and a CBG (GA043-060002-) lies in SE quadrant.
