What is recorded here
Corn Mill (OF005-067----) shown on the 1st ed. OS 6-inch map which has been subsequently converted into a dwelling house known locally as the 'Mill House' (pers. comm. H. A. King). This mill may incorporate fabric of a medieval mill or may have been built on the site of an earlier mill possibly re-using the mill race (OF005-067001-) of the medieval mill. Remains of this mill race can be traced on the first ed. OS 6-inch map and this earthwork can be seen in the fields to the NE and SW of the old corn mill and is clearly visible on aerial photographs. The mill race to the NE of the Corn mill can be traced in the field and on aerial photographs for a distance of approx. 675m while remains of the mill race can be traced in the field to the SW for a distance of 380m.
