What is recorded here

Situated on a slight natural rise, in gently undulating pasture with good views in all directions. Monument described in 1971 as a roughly circular-shaped area (dims. 63m N-S; 59m E-W) enclosed by a bank and external fosse. The earthen bank is well-defined, although it has occasional disturbance gaps. The outer face of the bank has been steepened all around. It forms part of a modern field fence from SE-S-SSW. A drain has been excavated into the base of the fosse. The original entrance is not recognisable. The interior rises gently from the perimeter towards the centre and is divided into three parts by a Y-shaped bank. It crosses the centre running N-S and splits to SE and SW, enclosing a residual area in the S sector. A Preservation Order was placed on this monument on 10/04/1984 (SMR file). Compiled by Alison McQueen, Vera Rahilly and Caimin O’Brien. Date of upload: 30 July 2019

The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.
