What is recorded here

Indicated is a fairy fort on a steep Kilkenny slope, its twenty-two-metre circle enclosed by grass-covered boulders and a narrow fosse. It sits halfway up the valley side, facing north, east and south while the western land rises against it like a closed hand. The entrance has disappeared, yet the intact ring suggests a place set aside rather than merely built. People may have lived there, feared it or simply avoided disturbing what the hills already kept.

On steep E-facing slope on range of N-S hills on W side of valley. Monument situated approx. half way between the valley floor and the hill top. Good views across valley to N, E and S to low hills. Poor view to W where land rises steeply. Circular area (int. diam. 22m) enclosed by an earthen bank with grass-covered boulders (Wth 2m; int. H 0.35m; ext.
