What is recorded here
Indicated is a fairy fort or earthen ringfort in Carrownurlar (tireragh By., Castleconor West Ed), County Sligo, Ireland. The 1837 OS 6-inch map depicts a subcircular enclosure, while the 1913 edition shows a semi-circular arc open to the north. Leveling has reduced the site to a very slightly raised, poorly defined area twenty-five to thirty metres across.
Depicted as a subcircular enclosure on the 1837 OS 6-inch map and a semi-circular arc, open to N, on the 1913 edition. This enclosure has been levelled; a very slightly raised, poorly defined, subcircular area (diam. 25-30m) can still be discerned.
