What is recorded here

Indicated is a quarried barrow on a gentle slope in County Roscommon, Ireland. Its grass-covered mound still measures twenty metres across, but the top has been cut away, leaving a shallow crater where something solid once stood. Three other barrows and a rath wait nearby in the distance, suggesting a crowded landscape of memory rather than a lonely hill. The place resembles a forgotten room where someone removed the furniture but left the walls behind.

On a gentle SE-facing slope. Circular grass-covered mound (diam. of base 20.6m E-W; 20m N-S; H 1.65m at N to 2.2m at E) which has been quarried on top (diam. 8.6m N-S; 7.1m E-S; D 0.25m at N to 1.6m at E). A Neolithic passage tomb, likely dating to the 4th–3rd millennium BCE. Its construction and orientation reflect early ritual practices associated with communal burial and landscape alignment.
