In pasture, located on an elevation, with good views, especially to NE–SW over a broad expanse of bog. Raised circular area (31m N–S; 32m E–W) defined by a bank (Wth 2.5m at N, 2m at S; int. H 0.3m at N, 0.1m at S; ext. H 0.95m at N, 0.6m at S). The bank survives mainly as an earthen scarp with a low stony internal rim. The SSW–NW arc is incorporated into a later field fence (Wth 3m; int. H 0.55; ext. H 1.2m), which is markedly substantial. The interior is level and grassy, with ephemeral evidence of cultivation ridges on a roughly E–W axis. According to local tradition, the rath was known as ‘High castle’, and there is a Man-made underground passage (MA093-036001-) in the interior.
