Towards the top of a steep W-facing slope overlooking a NW-SE stream c. 30m to the SW. Subcircular grass-covered area (dims 39m E-W; 35m N-S) defined by a scarp (H 1.5m at E to 3m at SW) SE-W-E with a bank (Wth 4.4m; int. H 0.35m; ext. H 1.4m) elsewhere, surrounded by a fosse (Wth of base 5.5-5.7m; D 0.5m generally to 1.3m at NE) W-N-E which is reduced to a berm (Wth 5.5m) S-W. An outer bank (Wth 5.75; int. H 1.6m; ext. H 0.7m) N-ENE is incorporated in the overgrown townland boundary with Ballyhollaghan S-W-N. There is no visible entrance, and the perimeter at NW has been damaged by a limekiln (int. diam. 3m). Rath (RO016-071----) is just 10m to the E.
