On a low ridge in pasture. Depicted as a circular, tree-covered enclosure with the designation ‘Fort’ on the 1837 edition of the OS 6-inch map. A raised circular area (diam. c. 33m) enclosed by a modern-looking, low, partially denuded bank of earth and stone (Wth 2.2-2.4m; H 0.3-0.4m). A report in 1976 (SMR file) recorded the presence of an external fosse, which is not visible at ground level. From WNW–NW–N the bank and a portion of the interior have been removed due to quarrying. The original entrance is not recognisable. This monument is probably a rath that was adapted and reused as a landscape feature in relatively modern times. Compiled by: Patrick F.
