Situated on the demense land of Bellgrove House on flat poorly drained pasture in undulating countryside. Depicted as a circular grove of trees and not as an antiquity on the 1840 ed. OS 6-inch map with the townland boundary bisecting the SE quadrant of the site on a NE-SW axis. Not indicated on subsequent editions of the OS 6-inch maps. Not visible at ground level. This feature appears to be a tree-ring of post-1700 date associated with Bellgrove House which is located 380m to the WNW.
