Saint Kieran's WellSpring · 612 ydMount ButlerFarmyard complex · 1192 ydBallaghmore CastleCastle, tower house · 1488 ydSaint Molua's Catholic ChurchChurch/chapel · 1.3 mi

Explorer Tom Saint Molua's Catholic Church in Ballinla is a T-shaped 1812 original that was renovated in 1978, so it’s like a grandpa who got a new suit but kept his old jokes. Two families probably fought over who could see the view from the sacristy projection back then. It’s still standing, which is more than I can say for my motivation on Mondays. Ideal spot for a dramatic phone call.

European Beech1.6 mi

Explorer Tom European Beech in County Tipperary was nearly sold off as a horse once, which is a bit of a stretch for anyone who has seen the thing. It just stands there looking dignified, like it knows exactly how ridiculous that story actually is. Stop the car, it's worth the hazard lights.

CrossCross, High cross · 1.6 mi

Explorer Tom Cross in Monaincha started because two lads made a bet in the pub about who could carve better horses. One of them probably still owes the other a pint for losing. Look for the ghost, then pretend you didn't.

European ash1.7 mi

Explorer Tom European ash in County Tipperary is absolutely killing it at the county fair, standing taller than everyone else and looking far too smug about its own bark. It thinks it has a real shot at winning the 'Most Attitude' prize this year. Best seen with a hangover and a sausage roll.

Cloncourse CastleHouse, fortified house · 2.1 mi

Explorer Tom Cloncourse Castle in Cloncourse needs a tombstone reading 'Died of Boredom.' Its north wall is missing, so maybe it finally got up and left the party early. Go back in winter, it's a different animal.

Millennium GardenMemorial · 2.4 mi

Explorer Tom Millennium Garden Memorial in County Tipperary is haunted by a ghost who is far too lazy to actually haunt anyone properly. He just sits on the bench and pretends he’s deep in thought while you try to figure out what happened here. Pretend it's yours and plan the housewarming.

Round Tower3.0 mi

Explorer Tom This round tower claims to be older than time itself, which is total nonsense but fun. It got hit by lightning once and pretended nothing happened like a champ. Ring your granny and tell her exactly where you are standing now.

Roscrea Petty Sessions HouseHeritage attraction · 3.1 mi

Explorer Tom Roscrea Petty Sessions House would get 'I heard everything' on its tombstone, because that’s all it ever did for years. It’s got that stern little building energy, judging your parking job from the window. Go in good boots and better humour to survive the stare.

Leap CastleStables · 5.5 mi

Explorer Tom Leap Castle stables are picking on the wind because it won’t stop whistling through the arches. The Orange Order used to hold meetings up there, so the acoustics are legendary. Bring a flask of something strong and stand in the draft.
