Indicated is a fairy fort or earthen ringfort in Ardkeenagh (plunkett), County Roscommon, Ireland. It occupies a crest on a south and east-facing slope, forming a subcircular grass-covered area measured fifty by forty-one metres. An earthen bank defines the perimeter, though it reduces to a scarp on the southeast and west, while a shallow fosse marks the west and northwest. Field banks attach to the east, south and southwest edges, linking the fort to a nearby field system.

At a crest on a S and E-facing slope. Subcircular grass-covered area (dims 50m WNW-ESE; 41.1m NNE-SSW) defined by an earthen bank (Wth 4-5.6m; int. H 0.3-0.5m; ext. H 0.8-1.2m) which is reduced to a scarp (H 0.5m) SE-W, and a fosse (Wth of base 2.5m; D 0.2m) W-NW. The original entrance cannot be recognised, and field banks of field system (RO028-025001-) are attached to the perimeter at E, S and SW. Rath (RO028-028002-) is c. 90m to the NW, and enclosure (RO028-031001-) is c. 120m to the ENE. Compiled by: Michael Moore Date of upload: 24 August 2010
