Hut site in Mangerton

In rough hill pasture, on the SW-facing slope of Mangerton Mountain, overlooking the valley of the Owbaun River to the SW and within the E side of a network of relict field boundaries (KE084-044001-). The remains of a circular hut site (diam. 2m) defined by a collapsed drystone wall (T 0.6m; H 0.8m). Outcropping rock forms the base of the drystone wall along the N and E arcs and a boulder forms the base along the W arc. A N-S section of relict wall from within the field wall network is 3m to the E. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Kerry.
