What is recorded here

Death and decay have stripped the chamber bare, leaving only a shallow rectangular scar in the upland pasture. The geometry still aligns with the old field system, suggesting human hands shaped the space before nature reclaimed it. Whatever lived inside has vanished without trace, but the boundary remains visible in satellite imagery decades later. The chamber is gone; its shadow endures in the landscape.
In undulating and rough upland pasture, abutting a field boundary to E. Within W side of field system (LI024-044001-), 200m NW of a ringfort (LI024-045----) and 240m WSW of a hut site (LI024-304----). Not depicted on OSi historic maps. Identified as a roughly rectangular-shaped cropmark by the Bruff aerial photographic survey in 1986 (Bruff 72: AP 4/3681). Monument is visible as a rectangular-shaped cropmark (12m E-W; 8m N-S) on OSi orthoimage taken 2005-2012, on Digital Globe orthoimage taken 2011-2013 and on Google Earth orthoimage taken 18/11/2018. See attached Google Earth orthoimage taken 18/11/2018 and Bruff aerial image labelled Bruff 72. Compiled by: Alison McQueen and Vera Rahilly Date of upload: 29 September 2020
