Hut site in Crossterry West

In rough pasture, on bog, on an E-facing hillslope. The remains of a circular hut site (diam. 2.3m) defined by a stone wall (T 0.55m; H 0.3m) which protrudes above the surface of the bog. The level interior, which is obscured by rushes and rubble, is cut (D 0.3m) into the upslope at the W to compensate for the hillslope. There is an enclosure (CO104-037004-) c. 10m to the SSE and another hut site (CO104-037001-) is c. 3m to the N. The above description is derived from 'The Archaeological Inventory of County Cork.
