Hut site in Crossterry West

In rough pasture, on bog, on an E-facing hillslope. The remains of a circular hut site (diam. 2.6m) defined by a jumbled stone wall (T 0.7m; H 0.5m) which protrudes above the surface of the bog. The level interior, which is partially obscured by rubble, is raised (H 0.2m) at the E and cut (D 0.6m) into the upslope at the W to compensate for the hillslope. There is a hut site (CO104-037005-) 4m to the S and another hut site (CO104-037002-) is c. 12m to the E. The above description is derived from 'The Archaeological Inventory of County Cork.
