What is recorded here
Castletowncooley holds a possible round hut tucked into the northwest corner of a ringfort, suggesting people once built beside rather than inside the main defensive wall. The arrangement hints at a busy settlement where cooking, sleeping or tool work spilled outward when the central area crowded. Perhaps a family kept its own fire there, watching the fort gate while living just outside the formal boundary.
Possible round hut site in NW corner of ringfort (LH008-045001-).
