What is recorded here

In rough hill pasture, on the N-facing slopes of Tooreennamna Mountain. The remains of an oval hut site (diam. 3.3 N-S; 2.65m E-W) defined by a bank (Wth 0.5; H 0.3m) which occurs intermittently and from which stones protrude. The almost level interior is raised (H 0.1m) at the N and cut (D 0.2m) into the upslope at the S to compensate for the hillslope. The S wall of the hut site abuts a wall of a network of relict field boundaries (CO102-041015-). There is a hut site (CO102-041005-) c. 35m to the W. The above description is derived from 'The Archaeological Inventory of County Cork. Volume 5' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 2009). Date of upload: 22 December 2009
