Hut site in An Choill Mhór (bar. Corca Dhuibhne)

(o) Huts: A pair of circular conjoined hut foundations now incorporated into the N side of a later, roughly-built, sub-rectangular enclosure. The E hut measures c. 3.25m in diameter internally and its corbelled drystone wall is 1.8 to 1.9m thick and up to 1.2m high. The entrance in the S sector is obscured by collapse. The W hut measures c. 4m in diameter internally, its drystone wall standing to a maximum height of 1m. The entrance was probably located in the ESE sector. A small oval sheep-shelter has been built in the interior, utilising the inner face of the W wall of the clochaun as part of its structure. The above description is derived from J.
