Hut site in An Choill Mhór (bar. Corca Dhuibhne)

(n) Huts: These 2 structures are located c. 6m apart and are incorporated into the walls of a field on a shoulder of the hillslope on the W side of the valley. The N structure is rectangular in outline and measures 4.4m x 3m internally. The drystone-built walls are c. 1m thick and stand to a maximum height of .45m but are largely collapsed. The interior is divided into 2 parts by a N-S cross-wall. This structure resembles a 2-roomed house and may be a late feature. The 2nd structure is roughly D-shaped in outline and measures 2.2m x 1.7m internally. Only 2 courses of the rough drystone wall survive. This may be a hut of relatively recent origin.
