Detached four-bay single-storey with dormer attic lobby-entry thatched vernacular house, built c.1860, with unfenestrated rear elevation, and later flat-roofed porch to front. Pitched thatch roof of wheaten straw with plain bobbin ridge and gable ends, red brick chimneystack. Slight batter to gables indicating mud wall construction. Replacement smooth render with raised plinth to front elevation. Lime-washed random rubble walls to rear elevation. Square-headed window openings with painted sills and uPVC replacement windows. Square-headed door opening to side of entrance porch having uPVC replacement door approached by concrete ramp. Opens directly to famyard with rubble stone outbuilding set at right angle to front having corrugated-iron roof. Set back from road with square-profile rendered piers and double-leaf gates with wheel motif.

This well-maintained thatched house is an appealing feature in the rural landscape that exhibits the simple and functional form of the vernacular tradition. It retains its character through its modest scale, thatched roof, and irregular fenestration. The attendant outbuilding retains its historic appearance and contributes to the setting of the house.
