Situated on top of a ridge with the highest point of the ridge to the E, in pasture. The site has been levelled and the field reclaimed. Depicted as an L-shaped building on the 1st ed. OS 6-inch map surrounded by a rectangular enclosure. On the 1953 ed. the site is depicted as an earthwork defined by a fosse. Surviving remains consist of an irregular platform (22m N-S; 19.5m E-W; H 0.9m) with a projection in the NW quadrant (8m x 9m). The platform is defined by a scarp and a wide, deep, flat-bottomed fosse (Wth 4.5m; D 1.16m). The above description is derived from 'The Archaeological Inventory of County Tipperary.
